 Warehouse Receipt System Course

Introduction

Tanzania like most African countries has a high rural population which is involved in some of agricultural activity. The whole food supply ecosystem of the country depends on small farm holders. Unfortunately the formal financial system does not provide credit to this critical sector of the economy. This is due to the fact that it is deemed risky by financial service providers.

The warehouse Receipt System (WRS) is an intervention of providing access to credit by the sector that is not normally cared for by the banks. This course provides the knowledge of establishing and running a WRS, participants will acquire the competencies to manage a rural business financed by credit, provide competitive products and effectively market produce.

 Aim

By the end of the course the participants will be able to demonstrate an understanding of warehouse receipt system and be in a position to strengthen the rural economy through well managed cooperatives.

Objectives

The participants will be able to: -
